Inordinate

Inordinate was a Fountaine Pajot Venezia 42 catamaran.

We chartered her in St Vincent in the Grenadines from Sunsail just before Christmas in 2001. We had the intention of buying the later model Belize (Bagpuss) so this trip was about trying to establish whether we liked catamarans and the quality of the product.

Inordinate was a typical 4 cabin, 4 head charter layout. Perfect as we were travelling with three other single friends. It was less than 2 years old when we chartered her.

We didn't actually get much sailing weather in her, mostly we motored.

On the approach towards Tobago Keys one of the motors stopped. We had to call out a mechanic, who quickly established the fuel filters were full of gungy "diesel bug". There were no spares and no tools on the boat. The mechanic used to work at the base and said this was a common problem.

In late 2003 we spotted Inordinate again, at Union Island. She wasn't in the best of shape. The hull had noticeably yellowed all over, like she had been washed in diesel, and there was numerous instances of badly repaired hull damage all round the boat. we felt sorry for her.
